Changeling,
A sincere apology does go a long way on both sides. Lately, I have just been wondering why on the most basic level? I am all for them, just trying to disect the human response to them. Ramblings of the mind, I suppose.
do you find it hard to admit mistakes oe even just incidents of poor judgements on your part?
most of the time i do not have trouble, but occassionally i am more reluctant.
what makes it so important to us, that we become stubborn and refuse to bend?.

It does take a lot of energy, doesn't it? Better used elsewhere.
i've heard the jws referred to on this site mostly as a cult.
as such, am i the only one who fears that one day the society will tell them to eliminate all of us who have been deemed apostates?
i can think of several of my old "friends" who would not hesitate to take me out.
Nope, I can't see them doing anything that they can delegate to their god. Why Bother?
At the same time, they are already handing over their own to the slaughter, if it helps their cause. Blood transfusion bans, The giving over of children's welfare and so many other things. But they have always done this. They will continue to offer their own in ways now that we can only imagine.
So their ways are still wicked.

They talked about the Virginia Tech. shootings on tv. The lady they interviewed just wanted an apology from the university, nothing more. Why is it that a sincere apology helps more than anything for some people?
I wonder what it is that we are protecting? The ego? If only we could just choose to ignore the ego, merely being amused by it at times. To let down the self preservation walls and choose not to react or be affected. Then mistakes or poor judgements just are, they carry no significance to us.
I still understand the dilemna of admitting mistakes, but I realize it is time to just let them be. What about you?
first off let me apologize for the long post, but i really needed to talk about this.
ive been coming to this site for over a year now.
though i dont post much, i really enjoy the banter here and also enjoy reading about the events in your lives.
A lot of guilt in your post.
No, I don't think that most people leave the jws because they want to "sin.' Some maybe, but most here have much deeper and thoughtful reasons for their actions. After all, many have given up loved ones and it totally shook their world to the foundations.
The jws are a cult that controls others lives and not for the better. Do get that copy of C of C and some info on the way cults work. And give up the guilt, it is their way to control you. You don't have to answer to anyone except the God you worship and yourself.
Best wishes to you on your journey.
someone did this thread on a different forum, and i though it might be kinda fun to do it here.
post a picture, not of your desktop on your pc, but of your pc on your desktop!.
i'll go first.... .
James Thomas,
It looks like a microscope, amongst other things. What all is in your picture?
so i downloaded the interlinear scripture analyzer and i've been playing around with it.
i compared psalms 102:26 to psalms 146:4. both of these use the word perish.
they are "will perish" and "do perish" respectively.. they both use the same strong's reference number, h6.
You are way above me already. I can't help you!
on weekends i am the conductor on a first class dinner train.
in addition to my conductor duties i walk through the train and schmooze with folks.
couple of weeks ago there was a party of four, man and woman in their mid thirties with a three year old girl and a mid fifties age man.
Gregor,
I love trains. I am jealous you get to be a conductor, especially in such a beautiful area!
I am sure they are used to such comments and easily forget them.
i seem to remember a doctrine that says that the only sin that is unforgivable is a sin against the holy spirit.
is apostasy a sin against the holy spirit?
They never really answered this except to hint that certain ones had qualified for this ultimate punishment. Ones like Judas, Adam and Eve, Satan, etc. How could Judas be so distraught that he committed suicide and not be sorry?
The only way I can see an unforgivable sin is if someone is still committing it. It has to be ongoing and not accidental or done in ignorance. It's only unforgivable until they learn from it, which everyone does eventually, I hope.
I mean, think about it, what would you not forgive your child for? Are you more forgiving then God?
i have one and use it for both wet and dry.
it gets pricey since you have to keep buying the cloths.. a couple of weeks ago i was in sears and they were having a demonstration of a swiffer type mop but you didn't have to throw awy the cloths.
simply remove from the cloth and throw it in the washer.
I live the swiffer for wood floors and use it on tile floors too. I have the one that vacuums also. Never tried the wet one./
Lady Lee, I will try the microfiber sheets that can be washed. Thanks for the info.
